Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is NDIS Support

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an initiative designed to provide support to Australians living with a disability. It is designed to give people more choice and control over how they access supports, services and equipment to help them participate in their community and lead fulfilling lives. Under the scheme, people living with a permanent disability may be eligible for individualised funding packages that are tailored to meet their requirements and goals. This means that individuals can purchase supports or services from registered providers listed on the NDIS website.

  • What skills can be developed through the NDIS?

The NDIS provides a range of supports designed to assist individuals with disabilities in developing the skills they need to gain independence and improve their quality of life. With the right supports in place, individuals can develop skills related to personal care and daily living activities like dressing, showering or preparing meals. They may also be able to learn new life skills such as budgeting, communication and even job training. Additionally, the NDIS may provide supports that enable participants to take part in social or leisure activities that help them build friendships and connections within their community.

  • What is NDIS community participation support?

NDIS community participation support is designed to promote social inclusion and greater independence for people living with disabilities. It also helps with activities that are important to a person’s life, such as finding and maintaining employment, attending educational courses or volunteering in the local community. The NDIS allocates funding for services that can help individuals achieve their goals related to community participation. These services may include leisure activities, recreation, volunteer work, educational opportunities and other forms of involvement in the local community.
